whew!
That was something as rare as a pleasurable gig-experience in London. The first in many, many years, if ever!
The Jazz Cafe is a great club with friendly (albeit dyslectic) staff. We had a fine support act in Goldray, a plentiful and great crowd, and were a pretty fierce headlining band. We play pretty well these days, I must say (excuse the blatant self-gratulation, but it is actually true. sorry!) Due to the size of the stage we left a mellotron and the acoustics in the bus, but managed to blow the roof off the sucker anyway. I never knew London could be this friendly and fun. Damn, are they finally catching up with the rest of civilization?
B
“managed to blow the roof off the sucker”! Yeehaw
Looking forward towards Düsseldorf and I hope you preserve your excellent form until there. :)
I don’t even know how many hours you did play, but it was the best concert of my life, and I’ve seen a shitload of concerts, of amazing bands too.
But your gig was something incredible… simple stunning, I’m so glad I witnessed such beauty!
Me and my mate can’t stop talking about how brilliant it was… I was the guy in the “parental advisory” shirt leaning on Bent’s monitor :D
Just wanted to say… FUCKING THANK YOU PEOPLE!!!
Come back as soon as possible, we will be there.
We travelled down from Liverpool for this gig (same as the last two London gigs) and it was well worth the journey! Great gig and great set list. We’ll be at the next one!
Seen MP twice in London before and knowing the limitations of London and it’s audiences decided against the trip this time. … My loss by all accounts ! Come to Scotland next time please
I absolutely stand behind what Nick says. You guys were flying high at the Jazz Cafe lastnight!
Starhammer and Un Chien were euphoric, Hell pt 1-3 was so heavy it must have registered on the Richter scale. The gig was incredible. Thank you Motorpsycho!!!
Amazing!!!!! Like always
Really jealous from Bolton Lancs! Wish I was there.
Bent I fu**ing love you!! And the rest of you guys! Amazing gig!! You’re right, you’ve never been tighter or more powerful! Great sounds and amazing singing too!! If I’m not mistaken 80 per cent of the audience was made by italians (don’t even get me started on the London rock music scene… Pitiful…) And you can always count on us every time you’ll be back! I believe there’s more italians in London then english people anyway! And if next time you play Demon Box, Kill Some Day and Come On In I can die happy!
You were properly awesome. I always think you’re awesome, but this was even better. So good. Come back soon x
What a Crazyness! This morning I am back home in Switzerland at my “Vintagewerkstatt”. Since the early morninghours you guys fill the room with full volume happyness! i cant come down from your Londongig. Again it was a long way just to see you, but i am still like on drugs. Damned i have to work but i just can shake my head as wild i can and jump around like a crazy fuul.
And Bent, i still feel like a little Boy of your personal Welcome to me at the soundcheck when i entered the total empty room. :-)
And K.K, what a Hell of a Ride, as you went faster and faster and faster at the middle of the London Dog, it was fantastic!!!
And Snah, if you next time will destroy an moneyautomat i will help you, but i was just like stoned as i saw you jumping up and down infront of it :D
And Mister Fiske, you was the best dressed man in the room :-)
So if i find a way to come to Italy i will do, otherweys i see you at the RedFabrik! Wish you all a happy Tour!
Keep tide and cazy like you are you Housis from an other Planet!
I love You all!!!
Alberto you’re right, there were plenty of italians, me included :-) Great gig, last time I saw Motorpyscho live was probably 15 years ago, in Rimini… I could notice that the guys are still in a pretty good shape, the sound was very powerful and I really enjoyed. Hope you’ll come back to London soon!
And it truly was a GREAT gig, thanks!
I attended after a two hour trip South for the sadly one and only UK show (again!) To be honest I thought the last gig at the Garage was equally great. My only bug bear is …. PLEASE PLAY OTHER UK CITIES.
London has always been a hard crowd to crack, prob due to being spoilt with so many gig choices (several friends went to see Flaming Lips or Melt Banana on Weds for example) yet we have multiple excellent cities/venues that would no doubt love the band. Come on, Brighton, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, etc etc await.
But if not, I’ll see you in London again next time ;)
Ps. Spidergawd can support ..,
Hey guys, yet another brilliant set & show!
Travelled down from Macclesfield (c. 20 miles south of Manchester) on the Branson Express to catch your awesome gig; could watch & listen to your beautiful noise forever!
Come back to our humble shores soon please, guys – many other great cities to play, y’know?! (Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, etc.).
And you even had hoodies in fat-buoy sizes at the merchandise counter this time! Thank-you super-much! x
This was the 6th time I’ve seen you & you just get incredibly better with each progressive show! Amazing shit, fellas!
Psychonauts unite!
This was my first Motorpsycho gig, having only been introduced to your music quite recently. I came with 4 friends, one who has been a fan for over 20 years (and you know from German radio), one who knows you a little, and two who had never heard a note by you, and we were all really delighted and impressed – my gig of the year, so far.
I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t previously enjoyed playing London, and delighted that you enjoyed it this time – in fact one of the things I particularly enjoyed about the set was how much you guys seemed to be enjoying yourselves.
This could be the start of a beautiful friendship – the only downside being that your merch guy was mistaken when he said that the vinyl version of Death Defying Unicorn that I bought would have download code in it ;-(
Come back and have fun again soon!
If you found yourselves at ease in london it’s because it’s actually full of italians! Ha!
