Festschrift

The hippies sang of wooden ships and purple berries, and longed for an island where all
the beautiful people could live in peace. The elitist fuckers. That pungent whiff of entitlement in the style of Charlie Manson & the Epstein Class, has worn out it s sell-by date and such childishly banal, dark daydreamery has no space in the Psychoverse.

In a more egalitarian spirit, Motorpsycho proposes equiping and manning the Gaia ll Space
Corps to go discover and if possible man, the first colonies / new home for humanity in the stars.

Motorpsycho even recorded their own version of the song – the album’s title cut, no less – a tune beamed in from the future, celebrating said feat, so there is something of the inevitable about all of this…

A history/herstory lesson:
Powered by both S.T.G. and the astrocentric music of said cosmic rock band, The Gaia ll Space Corps is/was/will be a unit pledged to go seek out any and all possible new homes for the survivors of the Third Great Tribulations, three hundred years into the linear future. If the song is anything to go by, their success is/was/will be total, and we will all find a new home eventually.

When time is a pretzel, and we all want mustard on our end, things get exciting fast!

The Space Corps’ discovery of Gaia ll is/was/will be a great relief we all can appreciate with huge relief seen from this point in the linear universe. As long as there is rock, there is hope!

Time isn’t linear, and neither is the Motopsychodelic ouevre: it moves like a snake through the fertile fields of musical imagination & expression, employing all found styles and approaches to the art to find their own take on the magic. Within the retrofuturistic confines of The Gaia ll Space Corps, this manifests as underground rock from the 60s rennaisance, the band’s favourite era of musical unorthodoxy. In the next incarnation, it probably won’t, so enjoy it while it lasts, as the band for once displays a sense of discretion, allows for no self indulgence, brooks no semicosmic musical waffle and permits no ‘’progressive’’ noodlings: the album is a snappy 37minute romp through 7 vignettes drawing a fascinating picture of life in the Psychoverse in times past and in times to come, all seen through the lense of The Gaia ll Space Corps.

So load up on carbs Spaceman – this will get hairy!
